Soraya was deep in thought about the jump off as she cleared up Lisa's table. She found it amazing that somebody from Briar Ridge finally got the courage to stand up against their ways, but was worried how Val will react. Since Alice and Jason works at Briar Ridge people will actually believe them more than they have the Heartlanders, because they would think their only trying to eliminate competition, but knowing Val she will do anything to to keep it quiet.
As she returned to her position behind the counter she saw Alice and Jason where they stood examining a bit and a flash of worry over these newcomers spread through her.
Will Alice be able to get Briar Ridge to change their ways? How long will she still have a job? How far will Val go to stop them, or make them regret? Soraya knew it was only a matter of time before her questions would be answered...

Lisa:
As Lisa drove out of Hudson towards Fairfield, mind full of what Alice and Jason were trying to accomplish, a fanciful thought gave her cause for pause.
What if I dropped by Briar Ridge unexpectedly? Just to see if Val has heard about this whole jump off challenge. Knowing Val, it's impossible that she hasn't! Someone needs to make sure Alice doesn't get into deep trouble with this. Hmm...
Lisa certainly had no trouble facing Val Stanton, and as she approached Briar Ridge, she had already come up with a cover story for her presence, in case someone asked.
I'll just say I was 'in the neighbourhood' and wanted to know if Briar Ridge would be entering a team for the W.E.N. events... That'll be a good hook to get Val talking, I bet!

Val:
Val Stanton pulled her Range Rover into a parking space right in front of Maggie's. She slammed the car door noisily and barged inside the store, pulling off her sunglasses and taking several glances around, as if looking for something.
Soraya had seen Val's stormy entrance, and watched the older woman pace around. Val stopped when she finally saw one of the posters that Alice Gordon had put up.

Soraya felt helpless as she watched Val Stanton. She had hoped that Alice and her friend wouldn't be around when Val found out, but now it's the worst case scenario.
Val's face was starting to turn different shades of red and Alice was still in the store... Good luck girl, Soraya thought, your going to need it.

"Jason," Alice laughed," we have to get back to Briar ridge. It's our turn to exercise the W.E.N jumpers remember..."
"When you say us you mean you," he replied. "I'm not getting anywhere near those over priced beasts. I ride like a bouncy ball remember..."he said mimicking her tone.
"I didn't say that,"she teased,"I said you ride like an unbalanced bag of potatoes."
After throwing his arms up in a playful protest Jason surrendered and said "Fine lets go" while beginning his march to-words the door.
Planning on yelling a quick goodbye she looked in Soraya's direction, she immediately saw Soraya's warning look.
Reaching out Alice grabbed Jason's arm, pulling him to a stop just to see a red faced Val standing 5feet in-front of them inspecting one of the posters that could ruin her business.

Val:
Val whirled around, enraged at what she had read, and came face-to-face with Alice.
"You!" she sputtered. "What is the meaning of this?!" Val demanded, reaching back and ripping one of the posters from the window. Before Alice could even answer, Val continued her diatribe:
"If you think you're winning yourself support by this cheap stunt, you can think again! I hired you on good faith, and this is the thanks I get? If you go through with this, you can kiss your job at Briar Ridge good-bye! The choice is yours... And that goes for you, too, Jason!"
With that parting barb, Val stomped out of Maggie's, crumpling the poster in her hands.

Alice completely saw this coming but it was still a shock to see Val go off like that. She knew she could lose her job and didn't care about it because she earns enough from her shows to get by ,but knew it wasn't the same for Jason.
Turning to-words him she said," I'm going through with this, I don't need this job but you do. You don't need to have any part in it."

Val:
Val sat in the Range Rover for a few moments to cool down. She was still extremely angry, and couldn't believe Alice Gordon had the nerve to challenge Cindy and undermine Briar Ridge at the same time.
"If she thinks she can make a fool of me..." Val muttered to herself as she started her vehicle. She peeled out of the parking spot and headed back to Briar Ridge. She realised she needed to have a serious talk with Cindy.
Of course Alice isn't going to back down, even though it's in her best interest, Val thought. If that's the way it's going to be, I'll just have to make sure Cindy understands she has to beat Alice at that silly jump-off, and beat her soundly!

"Alice I know what the risks are and there is no way that I'm going to let you take on Val on your own," Jason said with a determined look.

"Oh she wouldn't have to," Soraya said suddenly from behind Jason making him jump. "I'm completely behind you and call me any time when you need help with anything."
After being thanked by Alice, Soraya walked back to the counter and made a mental-note to talk to Amy as soon as possible.

Ty had to almost swerve off the road to avoid being hit by what had seemed like a bloodthirsty driver leaving Maggie's very shortly before him as he pulled in.
"Woah! Who was that, and what was that about?!" he almost shouted, the adrenaline still pouring through him, as he pulled into the parking space left by the crazy driver. Women, he thought.

"Jason thanks," Alice said when Soraya left, "You have no idea what this means to me." "No biggie," he replied.
"Well enough of that, we better get going," he said breaking the awkward moment," Your booked training session is going to start in about an hour so we won't have time to go to Heartland too."
"Oh we can do that later," Alice said starting to lead Jason to the door, "besides Soraya said she would talk to Amy Flemming for us."

Danica Gordon slid out of her truck and held the door open while her dog Muddy jumped out, Then grabing her purse and walking stick she limped towed the side walk to the nearby dinner. She signeled for her dog to stay and opend the door to Maggies to realize that this was inded no normal dinner to get a coffee from. One could also get a bag of grane or a new saddle all while someone filled their sandwich order. She Looked around the dinner and was looked back at buy a large amount of pepole siting variously around the room. But most of them where smiling like they where happy to see some stranger walk in to the Dinner. A watress offerd her a seat at the counter and Danny noded. 'I like this place' she tought to herself. The watress behind the counter handed her a coffee. "Thank's" she smiled and looked out the window where her dog was standing stareing at her, wanting her to come back out side. She looked at the wateress it was no or never she could not let her dog wate outside forever. "Excuse me do you know of anyone highering for a job as a groom or tranner around here? I am new and did not know who to ask." Danny crossed her fingers and prayed she would know of someone with an opining as a tranner.

Wow, Soraya thought, there seems to be so many new faces here today. Frowning she tried to think of anybody that might need a horse-trainer or groom and could only come up with two possible candidates: Val and Lisa.
"Actually yes," she said finally with a smile. "You can go ask Lisa Stillman at Fairfield Stables, she is always in need of some extra help with her racehorses and runs a very successfully Thoroughbred breeding program, so there aught to be a job spare."

It got really busy at Maggie's after the latest new-comer left. Soraya hated having to do all the work alone and she knew she had to find extra help and fast...
